AUGUST
Small works is opening on the 17th of August at Beinart Gallery in Australia. I've been experimenting with texture and have "Red eyed Girl" available as part of the exhibition. On a personal level this is a massive show for me. I've wanted to be involved with this gallery for many years, seeing it come together is very surreal. Please check out the show and contact the gallery if interested in purchasing any work from it.

The following is an excerpt from teara.govt.nz about the concept of Te Kore :
Te Kore – a world beyondIn traditional Māori belief there is something beyond the world of everyday experience: we do not live in a closed system where what we see is all there is. This other world or dimension is known as Te Kore, the ‘void’, in most tribal traditions.
Cleve Barlow has suggested that Te Kore means chaos – a state which has always existed and which contains ‘unlimited potential for being’. 1 Māori Marsden, a Tai Tokerau elder and Anglican minister, had a similar belief. He said that Te Korekore (a variant of Te Kore) was ‘the realm between non-being and being: that is the realm of potential being.’ 2
Some believe that Te Kore is where the ultimate reality can be found. Others think that it is where Io, the Supreme Being, dwells. The idea of Te Kore is central to notions of mana (status), tapu (sacred and restricted customs) and mauri (life force).

Welcome to the haunting realm of my dark art, where each creation stems from the heart of New Zealand. As a dedicated artisan of the macabre and surreal, my journey in art begins with vibrant, abstract textures—each brushstroke laying the foundation for an exploration into the depths of the subconscious. Guided by these initial marks, I venture into a world of discovery, where familiar shapes morph into eerie figures, mythical animals, and fantastical creatures. My work is a testament to the beauty that resides in darkness, presenting a collection of twisted, surreal masterpieces drawn from a trippy fantasy universe. Here, emotions such as anxiety, love, and depression intertwine with a unique aesthetic, inviting you into a space where the dark arts flourish. Experience the allure of beautifully dark, surreal art, and explore the rich tapestry of emotions captured in each piece.
