Carl Ingram is a self taught artist from New Zealand specializing in Dark Art. Using fluid acrylic pours and marbling as a starting point, he builds up images with glazes of oil paint. The fluid nature of his art is a direct influence of living in a coastal town. Much of his youth was spent in and around water.
Carl had drawn all of his life but didn't start to paint seriously until his early twenties. Influenced by Giger and Andrew A Gonzalez he picked up the airbrush and used that for a number of years.
He has been painting/exhibiting for 15 years both locally and internationally. Over the last few years he has shown work at Ars Memoria, La Luz de Jesus, Copro Gallery, The Dark Art Emporium, La Bodega and Te Papa.
Carl's work was published this year in "Ripley's believe it or not! Odd is Art" book. He contributed a piece to the Dark art tarot and is currently working on a piece for the 78 tarot elemental deck.
